The UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief)/Disaster Relief committee at Mt. Zion provides assistance to affected individuals during a natural or man-made disaster. UMCOR issues a call for help from UMC Districts when a disaster strikes somewhere in the United States or worldwide and each church responds as they are able. At Mt. Zion, we have recently instituted a procedure to provide assistance, if needed, to shut-in members of our congregation that have been impacted by a local disaster.
